What is the MSCA?
The MSCA is a trade association of companies that are actively and currently engaged in the business of installing and/or servicing or supplying “electronic systems”. Established in 1978 as the Massachusetts Security Contractors Association, the name changed to Massachusetts Burglar & Fire Alarm Association in 1991. On January 15, 2003, we became the Massachusetts Systems Contractors Association, lnc. We now have a membership of more than 130 companies.
Who are the members of the MSCA?
The membership consists of companies that are all active in some aspect of the installation, service, maintenance, monitoring, distribution or manufacture of systems and equipment. Their sizes range from large national companies to individual proprietorships.
What does the MSCA do for you?
IDENTIFIES YOU AS A SYSTEMS PROFESSIONAL
Customers and municipalities can check you out by calling the MSCA. We will verify that you are a member in good standing and subscribe to our Code of Ethics. The MSCA handles complaints about members to ensure fair treatment of all concerned.
KEEPS YOU INFORMED
It is very hard to attend every meeting and every hearing regarding state regulations, Mass. C & D licensure, permit and wire inspector issues, etc. As a member of the MSCA, you can stay current on events that will directly affect the industry, and your livelihood. 0ur general membership dinner meetings, held 5 times per year, feature informational speakers, manufacturers’ displays of the latest equipment, and a report on MSCA activities.
SAVES YOU MONEY
Membership in the MSCA allows you to take advantage of reduced rates on educational training and license renewal courses. Each year, we published a Guide to Massachusetts Cities and Towns that lists the police and fire departments and wiring inspectors in every town in the Commonwealth. This guide is free to our members and is updated every year. Our office staff is available daily to help you with problems and get information to you.
ASSISTANCE AS CLOSE AS YOUR PHONE
As a member, we can assist you in identifying potential opportunities, and in addressing industry issues. Whatever your dilemma, if we can’t help, we can usually point you in the right direction.
HELPS YOU GET BUSINESS
Our members frequently refer business to one another all over the state, and the region. We send your name to consumers that call us for information on our members. And the website lets consumers look for members directly!
